In May I bought a new digital camera and decided to start this blog. Because I am insane, I also decided that this would be a great Summer for me to master the fine craft of
silversmithing and to plant the first garden I've ever planted in my life...from seed. August was a whirlwind. I got married! It was a wonderful party and I thought I'd celebrate my return to the land of the blog with some pictures of my d.i.y. wedding projects.

I recruited a bunch of my lovely
lady friends to help me with the fresh flowers the evening before the wedding. Armed with some instructions printed off the
internet, plenty of floral tape and a bucket of fancy grocery-store flowers we made professional-looking corsages,
boutonnieres and a bouquet.

I didn't want to deal with fresh flowers for the table decorations so I made dozens of these origami tulips. They looked really pretty and the guests could take them home after the reception.

We copied a fabulous cupcake tier that I saw in a wedding mag and just had to have. The caterer made a bunch of assorted cupcakes with white frosting and we rented a big silver dessert stand. The silk flowers are from a craft supply store and the lacy cupcake wrappers are from
Paper Orchid.
I don't think I am
capable of throwing a party that doesn't involve strings of lights and paper lanterns.
